Principal's Message

Welcome to G.W. Carver Early Education Center!

At Carver, we will provide a caring environment where students are safe, feel valued, and are challenged to reach their full potential. Our school community will
grow students to their fullest potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

Carver staff will maintain high expectations for student achievement while focusing on the individual needs of each student. Our dedicated teachers and administration will ensure that our students benefit from engaging lessons that encourage our students to think critically and solve real-world problems. Our vision at Carver EEC is that our students will be kindergarten ready by learning, through purposeful play, and exploration. Every member of the school community will work to provide our students with an environment conducive to teaching and learning.

At Carver, we have outlined some key goals for the 2018-2019 school year, but to be successful, we need your help. You are a special and unique part of our learning community. Collaboration with your child's teacher is a main ingredient to a healthy and successful year. In addition, there are many ways in which you can participate in school. Volunteering to work in the classroom, chaperoning field trips, becoming a member of our PTO, and assisting with many activities, are just a few things that you can do to make a difference. Our district wide goal is that ALL students will make 1.5 years growth in math and reading.  Since you are our partners in education, we ask that you join us in meeting these goals:

  • Campus attendance rate will meet or exceed 96% average daily attendance rate for the 2018-2019 school year.
  •  85% of PreK students will reach"The set" Standard based on Ready Set K of (75%) or beyond in emergent literacy.
  • 85% of PreK students will reach"The set" Standard based on Ready Set K of (75%) or beyond in math.

This year we are really emphasizing students being in school. Two missed school days a month is all that it takes for a child to fall half a year behind. Goal: 96% ATTENDANCE

To strengthen the home-school connection and encourage you to get involved in your children’s education, we ask that all Carver parents:

  • Ensure that your child is in the classroom daily by 7:40a.m. when the instructional day begins.
  • Ensure that your child completes all daily take home assignments to strengthen their skills.
  • Ensure that you stay connected with the school by reviewing all campus announcements via our many communication tools, including campus newsletters, phone messages, digital messages, school website posts and social media announcements.

I am passionate about my mission as principal, and I will make decisions that are in the best interest of your child. At the end of the day, our job is to continue to strive for excellence and make Carver Early Education Center a place where all students receive a valuable education!  LET’S HAVE AN AMAZING YEAR!
