LJHS letter to parents regarding incident at dismissal

April 10, 2017

Dear LJHS Parents,

In light of recent incidents at the end of the school day, campus administration has implemented increased supervision of students at dismissal.

This afternoon, two students crumbled up a small amount of toilet paper and lit it on fire in the cafeteria at dismissal time. Because of the increased supervision, LJHS staff were able to immediately put out the fire. The fire alarm never went off as it was quickly extinguished. The involved students are facing appropriate consequences for this inappropriate and reckless behavior.

The increase in supervision at dismissal is one of many changes underway at the campus. Additionally, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a monthly meeting with me and the campus administration team to talk about any questions, concerns, or suggestions you have regarding LJHS.

The first meeting of “Dialog with Davis” takes place Tuesday, April 18, at 6 - 7 pm in the LJHS library. I hope you will join us! As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me at davis@lockhart.txed.net or 512-398-0770 with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Lori Davis
